Ekaterina is a 2004 Sabre 386 with the shoal draft keel.
When the Sabre 386 was launched in 2004 it was immediately awarded the coveted Cruising World Boat of the Year.
An American built and beautifully handcrafted sailing yacht built to the highest quality and a timeless design by Jim Taylor while maximizing the interior accommodation with a walk around centerline double berth in the forward cabin and a huge full width double in the aft cabin.
The head compartment includes a separate walk-in shower enclosure with a folding glass partition keeping it separate from the vanity unit and electric head. A further en-suite vanity bowl is set in a corian vanity top in the master cabin.
Interior cabinetry is hand rubbed and mostly solid American cherry with a teak and holly sole and Alcantara upholstery.
There is a further convertible double berth in the saloon providing accommodation for up to six adults.
The galley contains a Force 10 propane stove, a separate fridge and freezer with corian work surfaces plus a microwave oven.
Ekaterina has the shoal draft lead keel with a winged bulb. With a draft of just 4’ 10” this yacht is perfect for exploring almost all anchorages and the mast clearance of 56’ 4” means she can comfortably pass under all of the 65’ fixed bridges of the Intracoastal Waterway.
The traditional masthead rig has a keel stepped mast with a furling genoa and slab reefing mainsail. There is an electric winch for ease of hoisting and reefing the mainsail plus a spinnaker pole with mast stowage, for downwind sailing.
The sail wardrobe includes a recent genoa and mainsail, staysail, asymetric spinnaker and a storm jib.
The navigation instruments are Raymarine, the plotter has a radar overlay, ST60 sailing instruments and autopilot, plus Icom VHF and SSB radios and AIS.
There is a Spectra watermaker for self-sufficiency along with a wind generator and solar panels, plus a 2000W 120v inverter to power domestic equipment.
Ekaterina is a one owner boat and has received the benefit of continuous upgrades and maintenance with no expense spared from new.
In the last few years alone the standing rigging has been replaced (2016), the topsides repainted with Awlgrip (2017), keel bolts examined, new batteries, sails and canvas (2019/2020), watermaker overhauled with a new pump (2020) and in (2020/2021) the 40hp Yanmar engine had a complete engine-out workshop overhaul.
A yacht to be proud of.
Ekaterina is USCG documented and is currently lying ashore in English Harbour, Antigua.
