Blue Argolis is a Trewes Viscount 40′ centre cockpit steel ketch built by Dan Damm in 1968 in the Netherlands to a Van Der Meer design in 6mm Corten steel with Sika Spruce wooden spars, and teak laid decks. A slightly smaller sistership to the Hiscock’s legendary Wanderer IV.
The sellers have owned the boat for more than 20 year and have largely refitted her over the last few years.
The hull was last surveyed in 2019 and ultrasounded in 2023, the spars were replaced in 2008, standing and runnung rigging in 2018/2022 and the engine rebuilt in 2021/2022.
With three double cabins and two heads, the master cabin is aft. In the galley the stove, fridge and freezer have all been recently replaced.
The powerful 80hp Cummins diesel was rebuilt in 2021-2022 and has only done 1100 hours since.
There is an electric windlass, a high output watermaker, solar panels and wind generator for self-sufficiency, recent LiPO4 Lithium-Ion batterys and stern dinghy davits.
The navigation insruments include radar, a sat phone and starlink running through two inverters and there is windvane self steering.
The mainsail is fully battened, the furling genoa and staysail are almost new, there is the mizzen and an asymetric spinnaker.
A full set of recently serviced safety gear including a liferaft completes the inventory.
